The timeline for applying for a residence permit can vary, taking between two to ten days, depending on factors such as the preparation of the application and proper document compilation. The approval of the residence permit status itself typically occurs within 30 days from the date of application, as per the Republic of Armenia law. However, this timeframe may be subject to variation based on the workload of the relevant state body, and they will provide advance notice.

The cost of obtaining a residence permit can also vary, depending on multiple factors and the chosen duration of the residence permit you are applying for. For instance, the state fee for a temporary residence card for up to 1 year may be 105,000 drams, while a special passport for up to 10 years may cost 150,000 drams. What documents are required to obtain a residence permit in Armenia?

Official List of Documents Required to Obtain a Residence Permit in Armenia in 2023:

1. Questionneire - Application.

2. Three 35 x 45 mm color photographs.

3. Passport, a copy of the passport, and a notarized translation of the passport into Armenian.

4.Documents confirming the circumstances for obtaining residence status (extension of residence status) in the Republic of Armenia.

5. Health certificate.

6. State duty payment receipt.

A passport for ethnic Armenians?

Proof of Armenian Origin: You can confirm your Armenian origin with one of the following documents:

A document confirming Armenian citizenship, as verified by governmental entities in your country of citizenship.

A birth certificate or other identity document that includes information about the applicant's parent, grandparent, brother, or sister's ancestry.

Note: An identity document of a half-sister or half-brother can serve as proof only if their ethnicity is based on a common parent

8) One of the documents proving that the applicant is Armenian by nationality
